Kings Head Bayswater Review

So your after a pint of Ale or Lager and your in Bayswater? Well make your way to the Kings Head on Moscow Rd. It is about 200 metres from the Bayswater Tube and about 500 metres from the Queensway Tube near Hyde Park.

The pub offers the traditional London pub atmosphere which is very popular with the daily influx of tourists visiting london. There are many hotels in the area and pub does present itself towards the tourisits but also quite a number of Bayswater locals call the Kings Head their pub.

I worked at the pub for 4 shifts! Yes just four shifts. I found the experience of being a barman very good and working with other aussie blokes made it even more fun.

If I was young man and came to London with no job lined up, working in a pub is a great way to fill in the time whilst you look for something else (unless your in business of being a career barman).

The ales on tap:

Abbots Ale
Green King IPA
Bombardier

The lagers/beer on tap:

Fosters
Kronenbourg 1664
Stella
John Smith's Extra Smooth
Strongbow

and of course Guinness + Cold Guinness!

Brighton - November 2006

I checked out Brighton today. It was good to get some fresh sea air and see another part of the UK. This time of the year (winter) will never do the place any favours. It was bloody freezing and I can not imagine how cold the water would be.

I'm sure this place doubles in population in summer and be one of the best places to hang out in a UK summer.

I also walked the Brighton Pier. I was amazed that the pier is over 100 years old.

Barman Mort - Kings Head Bayswater

Apparently the best tasting beer in London is being sold by a rookie barman at the Kings Head in Bayswater.

If you read this blog then you probably know me and may have heard I'm moving to Malta in January to work and live. The town is St Julians and the weather should be very warm which I do like. So I will be leaving London behind but hope to be back in the future.

Anyways back to Pub I'm working at. I have a few months off until I start my new job and to kill the time I thought pulling a few Fosters would be a great way to pass the time.

Here are some reviews and links of the Kings Head:

InterCasino.co.uk London Tube Ad

I came across another online casino ad in the tube. This one was for InterCasino.co.uk. They advertise quite alot in the UK via mainstream channels including a few ad spots on TV.

Paris, France Gallery Uploaded

I finally got around to uploading the photos of my trip to Paris. My Mum and Dad were in town and passing through on their trip of France, Germany and Italy.

The highlights of our stay was seeing Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Lourve and Mona Lisa, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Bateaux Parisiens River Cruise.

London Eye - November 2006

I checked out the London Eye which sits on the Thames embankment. The day was really good, not too cold and blue skys. I went up on the eye in the afternoon, so the sun in the west was beaming down on that side of town and alot of the photos didn't come out too good because of the glare.

It was really worth doing as you get 360 views of the heart of London town. To the east you can see all the way to the buildings of Canary Wharf and to the west, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace are in full view.

Chelsea FC Stadium Tour

I decieded to pop along to the Chelsea FC Stadium and check out the tour they run their through the day.

The Chelsea Staduim is located in Fulham and has two hotels that back onto the place.

The tour itself covers the press room, away lockers (which are small) and the home lockers which is massive and has all the mod cons that a multi-million dollar team needs.

You also get to rundown the players tunnel and check the stadium from various angles.

The stadium itself is relatively small, only seating 45000 people.

I would think every seat in the house you have an excellent view of the pitch.

We also sat in the players dug-out which is also a sweet view as your eyes are flush with the playing pitch.

Check out my video of the locker room:
